14 Jun Solidarity Masks for Refugees
All over the World we are expected to practise social distancing and to protect ourselves by wearing fabric masks. While the masks are widely available for us, there are about 42,000 people in refugee camps who urgently need them.
That is why we, your students’ representatives AStA, together with you and „Sewforsolidarity“ want to send protective masks to people in refugee camps on the Aegean Islands. Let‘s prove that solidarity has no borders!
Here´s how you can help:
Step 1: Sew the masks according to these guidelines. If you cannot sew, of course you can donate bought masks which meet the required standards.
Step 2: Send the masks to the following address:
AStA Universität Duisburg-Essen Referat für Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsreferat Universitätsstraße 2 45141 Essen
You can hand them in personally on one of the following dates:
- on the 29th of June 2020, from 11 am til 2 pm in Duisburg (in front of the LK library) or on the
- 30th of June 2020, from 11 am til 2 pm in Essen (in front of the Mensa/AStA),
where we will accept the masks in compliance with the prescribed hygiene regulations.
Solidarity shouldn’t have any borders!
